Not all intra-workout protein juices are created equal. Outside of your workouts it’s largely insulin that controls the uptake of amino acids, from your bloodstream to anywhere it wants to send them. Because of a non-insulin mediated uptake of nutrients that happens during your workouts, this is an amazing opportunity to drive most of those amino acids directly towards your muscles. Here they can get to work helping to cut cortisol, increase energy and repair damaged muscle tissue.
Some companies try to accomplish this by using Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA’s) or Essential Amino Acids (EAA’s) for their intra-workout protein juices. The problem with this is that your body can accomplish a whole lot more when it’s supplied with all 21 amino acids, versus the 9 Essential or 3 Branched Chain Amino Acids.
Clear Whey
The next level up to optimizing your amino acid utilization during workouts would be to use a more “complete” protein source. But, most sources are too slow to get in to your bloodstream and then be taken up by your muscles. Even a good quality whey protein can only be absorbed at a rate of about 10g per hour.
Hydrolyzed proteins consist of proteins that are predigested and partially hydrolyzed so they can be used by your body much faster. They’re a complete protein source meaning your muscles get exactly what they need and at the speed they need it. A hydrolyzed whey protein is therefore a better intra-workout option than EAA’s or BCAA’s. Clear Whey is a good example of this. But still, we can do even better.
Oblivion+
Now, under normal circumstances a whey protein is a “faster” protein compared to the much “slower” casein. And you’d be right. Casein is also a more expensive protein and in shorter supply than whey. But, when hydrolyzing casein then something special happens. Your body is able to metabolize a hydrolyzed casein faster than even a hydrolyzed whey. This means it can get to work even faster to fuel your progress. Hydrolyzed casein also elicits a higher insulin response than whey, which helps to shuttle even more amino acids to where they need to be during your workouts.
Casein hydrolysate represents the gold standard of intra-workout proteins. It’s the main driving force behind Oblivion, alongside some other research-backed ingredients for good measure. It might be a more costly protein source, but you’ll require less of it to get even better results than other inferior intra-workout protein sources.

The impact a business has on the environment is one that needs to take the same level of attention as the development of products. We thought deeply about how we can work towards lowering our environmental impact. This is what we wanted to do with this new experience:
1) We wanted to be able to minimise the space it takes to transport, so we decided to fit in to an envelope. This means in the space to post one tub we can post out 5 pouches. Reducing our carbon emission.
2) We wanted to send one scoop for the first order, and then all following orders to not have a scoop. We rebuilt our entire website to allow us to do this easier by the dispatch team. Reusing the scoop will save thousands of scoops each month, helping minimise the amount of plastic that goes out to the world. Join us in our campaign to #ditchthescoop. 3) We made sure to use packaging, both for postage and for the product, that can be 100% recyclable.
